The Society ‘s annual visit to the Dylan Thomas Theatre, Swansea, to see Theatr Na n’Óg’s latest production – “Arandora Star” – on Wednesday, 16th November proved to be very enjoyable. Once again Theatr Na n’Og excelled at bringing to life on stage an historic event. This year’s production was based on the torpedoing of the liner Arandora Star which was transporting foreign internees and prisoners of war from Britain to Canada. The play was centred on the Welsh Italian community, with the main character Mr. Fulgoni and his family, representing what happened to the whole Welsh Italian community. The sound effects, especially the sinking of the ship, and set were particularly well done.
A thank you to Mr. Barry Hughes for the refreshments provided at the Museum after the performance.
