The Society was treated to a most unusual talk today (Monday, 2nd April) – travelling along the River Tawe on board the barge the Black Prince. It was organised by the Swansea Community Boat Trust, which provided us with a floating speaker, Charles, who gave us a running commentary about the past industrial and port facilities along the banks of the Tawe. Instead of a slideshow, we progressed through the lower Tawe valley and were able to see all the salient points from the cabin windows.
A most enjoyable visit – with a good buffet to round it off.
