At present there is no memorial in Skewen to the men of Coedffranc who gave their lives in WW1.

Coedffranc Community Council has given the Society permission to erect a memorial in the form of a marble slab listing those men from Coedffranc who gave their lives in WW1. This will be dded to the  the blank face of the existing WW2 memorial outside the Carnegie Hall on Evelyn Road, and, will be paid for from the proceeds of the sale of the Society’s book “Our Village in WW1”.

A Heritage Day to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War will be held by the Society in the  Carnegie Hall on Saturday, 10th November 2018,  when a ceremony to commemorate the new memorial will  be conducted by the Rev. Coles, Vicar of Skewen.
